Vicky Psarakis, born June 22, 1988, best known as the vocalist of Canadian metal band, the Agonist. She joined in 2014 replacing original vocalist and co-founder Alissa White-Gluz.
Is a American singer and songwriter. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Greek parents, she has gained international recognition for her powerful vocal versatility and her ability to blend extreme metal techniques with melodic and expressive clean vocals.
Vicky joined The Agonist in 2014, following the departure of the band’s original vocalist. Her debut with the band came on the album Eye of Providence (2015), which marked a new chapter in The Agonist’s sound while preserving its core identity rooted in melodic death metal and metalcore. Subsequent albums such as Five and Days Before the World Wept further showcased her range, adaptability, and growing confidence as a frontwoman.
Her vocal style is defined by a strong contrast between aggressive growls and clear, controlled clean singing, allowing her to move fluidly between intensity and melody. This duality has made her a respected figure among modern metal vocalists and a key element in The Agonist’s dynamic sound.
Beyond her work with The Agonist, Vicky Psarakis has been involved in other musical projects, most notably Sicksense, a band that blends metal with alternative, nu metal, and modern rock influences. Through these projects, she has demonstrated a willingness to experiment with genre boundaries and explore different vocal textures and emotional approaches.
Vicky is also known for her energetic and engaging live performances, bringing a strong physical presence and emotional connection to the stage. Her multicultural background and openness to stylistic diversity contribute to her broad artistic perspective within the metal scene.
Today, Vicky Psarakis is recognized as a prominent figure in contemporary melodic and extreme metal, representing a generation of vocalists who combine technical skill, stylistic flexibility, and modern artistic identity within heavy music.
