Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in West Bromwich, West Midlands in 1969 and are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time.
Judas Priest is often credited with helping to pioneer the heavy metal sound and look. With their signature leather and studs aesthetic and blistering guitar work, Judas Priest defined what metal would become and influenced generations of metalheads to come.
In the early days, Judas Priest was just another band trying to make it big. They released a couple of albums that failed to make much of a splash commercially, but they slowly began to build a following with their intense live shows and powerful songwriting. It wasn't until 1976's Sad Wings of Destiny that Judas Priest truly found their voice. The album was a critical and commercial success, launching the band into the stratosphere.
From there, Judas Priest went on to release a string of classic metal albums that cemented their place as one of the greatest bands of all time.
