Crusader is the sixth studio album by British heavy metal band Saxon, released in 1984. The album represents a transitional moment in the band’s career, blending their classic NWOBHM sound with a more polished, mid-1980s heavy metal production. Crusader features powerful riffs, melodic hooks, and anthemic songwriting, with the title track becoming one of Saxon’s most recognizable songs. Lyrically, the album explores themes of warfare, honor, faith, and historical conflict, reinforcing the epic and heroic imagery that defines much of Saxon’s legacy. Despite its stylistic shift, Crusader remains an important chapter in the band’s discography and a staple for fans of traditional British heavy metal.
