Black Sabbath, formed in Birmingham in 1968, is recognized as a pioneering heavy metal band. Key members included guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler, and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. The band defined the genre with iconic albums like " Black Sabbath," " Paranoid," and " Master of Reality." Despite numerous line up changes, Iommi remained the consistent force throughout their history.
