Ram Jam was an American one-hit wonder rock band formed in New York City in 1977, predominantly known for their hit single “Black Betty”. The band consisted of Bill Bartlett (guitar), Howie Arthur Blauvelt (bass), Pete Charles (drums), and Myke Scavone (lead vocals).

The band is best known for their hit single “Black Betty,” which was a reworking of a traditional folk song and became a Top 40 hit in 1977. The band’s lineup consisted of Bill Bartlett (guitar), Howie Arthur Blauvelt (bass), Pete Charles (drums), and Myke Scavone (vocals).
In addition to their hit single “Black Betty,” Ram Jam also had two other songs that received significant radio airplay: “Let It All Out” and “Portable Radio.” The band remained active until 1979.
