The band was formed in 2002 by Chrigel Glanzmann and plays a mix of folk and metal music. They are known for their use of traditional Celtic instruments, such as the fiddle, mandolin, and tin whistle, as well as for their lyrics, which are sung in a modern Swiss-German dialect of Gaulish, an ancient Celtic language. Eluveitie has released nine studio albums, the most recent of which is “Ategnatos”, which was released in 2019. The band has a dedicated fan base and is known for their energetic live performances. The band’s founder, Chrigel Glanzmann, has been the only constant member.
