In Slayer’s song “You Against You,” vocalist Tom Araya unleashes the line “Your perfect world is ending this day, so what? I wouldn’t have it any other way” — a declaration that perfectly sets the tone for the band’s uncompromising visual aesthetic. From the very first frame of the “You Against You” music video, viewers are plunged into relentless gore, extreme violence, and nonstop carnage, with blood-soaked imagery that never lets up.

“You Against You” serves as the official prequel to “Repentless,” Slayer’s infamous 2015 music video filmed inside a Los Angeles prison, which has amassed nearly 7.5 million views on YouTube. Like its predecessor, the video was directed by BJ McDonnell and stars Jason Trost (Hatchet III) as Wyatt, the one-eyed rebel inmate. The narrative explores the events that led to Wyatt’s wrongful arrest and brutal imprisonment, expanding the dark cinematic universe introduced in Repentless.

The band’s performance footage for “You Against You” was filmed deep in the Mojave Desert, California, surrounded by a haunting graveyard of abandoned jets, airliners, and helicopters — a setting that amplifies the song’s themes of destruction, isolation, and rebellion.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Tom Araya praised the result:
