Most of Leaves Eyes lyrics, written by Liv Kristine until her departure in 2016, concern Norse mythology and the Viking Age.     Leaves’ Eyes music is characterized by the use of both clean vocals, sung by Liv Kristine, and death growls, performed by Alexander Krull. They incorporate elements of folk music into their symphonic metal sound, drawing inspiration from Norse mythology and Scandinavian folk tales.
