This song is inspired by Callisto, a figure from Greek mythology, known for her tragic transformation. A devoted follower of the virgin goddess Artemis, Callisto vowed to remain chaste. However, Zeus, the king of the gods, seduced her in disguise, resulting in her pregnancy. Betrayed by fate and punished by Hera or Artemis (depending on the version), Callisto was transformed into a bear. Eventually, she and her son, Arcas, were placed among the stars by Zeus as the constellations Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. This song captures Callisto’s journey from freedom to exile, from mortal to myth, celebrating her eternal presence in the night sky.
