They formed the band in 1976 in Solingen, Germany. Their early work was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. They released their debut album “Accept” in 1979 and released several more albums throughout the early 80s including “I’m a Rebel” (1980) and “Breaker” (1981) before achieving commercial success with “Balls to the Wall” (1983) which includes the hit single “Balls to the Wall” and is considered as one of the classic heavy metal albums.
Udo Dirkschneider left the band in 1987 and since then, the band went through several line-up changes before disbanding in 1997 but reformed in 2005 and continue to tour and release new music. The band has undergone several lineup changes over the years, but the current members include Wolf Hoffmann, Peter Baltes, and Uwe Lulis.

He also played on few albums from the band Grave Digger and on one album from the band Black Fate.
