Audio Track
[Intro: low D drone, 5/4 pulse; contralto hum on D3; round vowels; de-emphasize 's' on mic; grow to mezzo-forte]
[Verse 1: 5/4, low register, warm timbre]
I walk the dim of mind, under a wordless dome,
Veil upon veil of time, yet I feel a living home.
Depth without limit breathes, no clock, no dawn, no end,
I unlearn name and form, I let the bright dark mend.[Pre-Chorus: 7/8, build]
Lift the inner ear, hear the quiet flame,
Not born, not bound, and free of blame.[Chorus: 4/4, wide and open, crescendo to forte]
The light beyond creation, older than the void,
An aeon calm and radiant, never made, not destroyed.
I lean into that river, where matter cannot reign,
And every shard of knowing falls like gentle rain.[Verse 2: 5/4, contralto floor F3–A3]
Nous and Aletheia ring in a clear, pure chord,
Life and Truth entwine, heart given to the Word.
Bythos deep and silent, cradle of all thought,
Sophia yearns for wholeness, from longing wisdom wrought.[Bridge: 11/8 + 7/8, tension; grow through each line]
Break the wheel of naming, drop the iron frame,
I breathe the breath behind the breath, a colder, brighter flame.
No throne, no law, no empire, only lucid ground,
A choir of unborn echoes, without edge or bound.[Instrumental: guitars in polymeter; organ drones; toms in 7/8; rising swell; contralto oohs on F3–A3]
[Chorus: 4/4, higher crest; belt within contralto range; crescendo then hold]
The light beyond creation, wider than all sky,
An aeon clear and patient, no where, no when, no why.
I lean into that river; my fear lets go its claim,
And mind returns to stillness, a bright and nameless flame.[Breakdown: 5/4, near-whisper; close mic; soften all sibilants]
No need to own, no need to win,
I open, I open, I open within.[Outro: 5/4 -> free time, decrescendo; warm, rich tone]
I am not the title, I am not the clay,
I am the open mirror, where hidden daylight lay.
Beyond the wheel of making, beyond the need to win,
A quiet vow: awaken—the light that lives within.[Technical note: avoid sharp 's' and 'sh'; round vowels; minimal vibrato; off-axis mic for gentle top end]
As an entry in the Before All Things series, The Light Beyond Creation leans fully into Gnostic imagery to render an inner pilgrimage from veil to vision. The lyrics stage a deliberate shedding of name, form, and rule—an unlearning that culminates in the chorus’s luminous thesis: a light older than void, unmade and unbound. By naming Aeons—Nous, Aletheia, Bythos, and Sophia—the song locates its meditation in the Pleroma, where truth and mind entwine beyond the churn of matter.
Odd-meter cues (5/4, 7/8, 11/8) and notated crescendos mirror the climb in consciousness, while the contralto voice is directed to keep a rich, rounded tone, amplifying the piece’s dark introspection. The arc moves from dim inward searching to a poised release, as fear “lets go its claim” and the self resolves into stillness. It’s a progressive-rock liturgy: philosophical yet intimate, rigorous yet tender—an invocation to awaken to the unmade light beyond the world.
