This song is inspired by the legend of Balor, the Evil Eye, the feared leader of the Fomorians, whose gaze could destroy everything in its path. Feared as a god of destruction, Balor was cursed by a prophecy that foretold he would be slain by his own grandson.
Balor’s Eye
(Verse 1)
Through the mists of ancient war,
Rose a king of death and fear,
With a gaze that none ignore,
Bringing ruin far and near.
(Verse 2)
Born of fire, born of night,
Doom was written in his sight,
One great eye, a cursed mark,
Turning kingdoms into dark.
(Chorus)
Oh, beware the burning eye,
Fate is sealed when he draws nigh,
One glance, the earth will cry,
Under Balor’s wicked sky.
(Verse 3)
“None shall slay me!” so he swore,
Yet the fates had spun his fall,
For his own blood, his flesh and core,
Would rise against and end it all.
(Bridge)
Lugh, the light, the golden heir,
Raised his spear with vengeance bright,
Pierced the eye with fury rare,
Ending darkness with his light.
(Chorus)
Oh, beware the burning eye,
Fate is sealed when he draws nigh,
One glance, the earth will cry,
Under Balor’s wicked sky.
(Outro)
Now his shadow fades away,
Lost in echoes, lost in time,
Yet his name will still remain,
Etched in legends, dark, sublime.
