Hades was the ancient Greek god of the underworld, the realm of the dead. He was considered one of the three most powerful gods, along with Zeus and Poseidon, and was depicted as a stern and unyielding ruler. Although he was feared by many, he was not necessarily considered evil, but rather as a necessary part of the natural order of life, death, and the afterlife. He was also known for his wealth, as the underworld was believed to be full of precious metals and gems. In mythological stories, Hades abducts Persephone, daughter of Demeter, causing the goddess of harvest to mourn and leading to the creation of the seasons.
