Nocnitsa, also known as the Night Hag, is a figure from Slavic mythology. She is a female spirit or demon that is said to visit people while they sleep. In Slavic folklore, it is believed that if someone falls asleep on their back, they are vulnerable to an attack by the Nocnitsa. She is said to sit on the sleeper’s chest, causing them to experience nightmares, suffocation, or even death.

The Nocnitsa is often depicted as an old woman with long white hair and a pale complexion. She is associated with darkness and the night, and is believed to have the power to control dreams and visions. In some versions of the legend, the Nocnitsa is also associated with witches and sorcery.
